Motor Home Registration
Registration on Motor Homes that are less than 2 years old, cost approximately $310.00 annually. Motor homes 10 years old and new, and which have an MSRP of $300,000 or more are assessed an additional $824 surcharge by Montana. This registration is renewable in the month which the vehicle is initially registered.
Trailer & 5th Wheel
These usually cost between $125.00 and $227.50, and these are “permanent registrations”. This means you do not have to renew or re-register for as long as you own the vehicle.
Other Vehicles
Registration on a vehicle (car, truck, SUV) is value based. Therefore, registration on these will vary greatly. A new truck or SUV can come in at $500-$700. An older or less expensive vehicle can be closer to $130. This expires one year from the month you register the vehicle. If the vehicle is 10 years old or newer and has an MSRP of $150,000 or more, there is an additional $824 surcharge by Montana. Vehicles 11 years old or older may be eligible for a “permanent” registration.
